Thus we stood adjacent,
Now was the time for fun.
We pranced,
We struck,
The darkness felt sweet.
No fuss,
So for this life time,
Thus came to end the ultimate test.
Though bonded as we were,
Enemies in lives to come,
With nowhere left to run.
We gandered,
We danced all about.
We missed,
We fell into the abyss.
It caressed our skin,
Slowly yet carefully taking us in.
No mess,
Just the calm embrace of death.
And perhaps the next,
We let it lay to rest.
We yet stood,
But no longer adjacent.
